SWEPCO’s Route 109 through southern Missouri Ozarks closer to reality
Earlier this year, an Arkansas public service judge moved the Southwestern Electric Power Company’s plan to construct a 345kv regional power line through Missouri just north of the Arkansas border. The route may effect parts of Barry and McDonald Counties in Southwest Missouri. The project would include the acquisition of right of way easements voluntarily or through the use of eminent domain. The design of the power lines includes single towers between 130 and 160 feet tall and right of way as wide as 150 feet along the entire line.
